Can Cats Sense Pregnancy Labor
We dont have scientific proof that pets sense their owners pregnancies but Ive seen plenty of examples of this in my ten years as an animal trainer.
Can cats sense pregnancy labor. Animals do have a higher sense of awareness than most humans do so Id say yes. However they do pick up on new smells and your behavior changes. Cats hearing is considerably sharper than humans so they would hear the babys heart beat and as mine keep snuggling up to the bump resting their weary heads on the bump I am sure they can.
I started having contractions these past few day loosing my mucous plug these past 2 days his behavior has been so nasty idk if it can be pregnancy related but. It can also sense that a female is pregnant even before getting the test results. This can make them act differently as soon as you are pregnant even if you havent taken a pregnancy test yet.
Your pets probably dont understand that in nine months a new baby will be joining your family but dogs and cats do detect differences in your mood posture behavior and body chemistry that clue them in to the enormous changes. With my first pregnancy I went over to my fiancées uncles house and his dog would not leave me alone and they said she was never like that and sure enough I found out I was pregnant a few weeks later. They can detect vapors and smells that people are not even aware of.
Do cats and dogs know they are pregnant. However it doesnt occur the same way across the board. Your furball can detect pregnancy-related shifts.
Okay this might sound strange but I think my cat knows something I dont. As you are probably aware cats have distinct personalities and they will each act according to them. I know ive kinda ranted on there but yeah i do think animals can sense pregnancy and when a woman is near to going into labour the same as they know when other animals are going to have their babies my friends cat started following the dog about and not leaving her alone and no one knew why then they lost the dog and found her under the bed with 8 puppies.
Your female cat might be fighting with the male because shes having an instinctive reaction to another females pregnancy. For starters while your cat might not be able to sense labor per se theres a chance they do have a pretty good idea that you are carrying a little one in your belly. But as you get closer and closer to delivery your body will go through some 11th-hour changes that.
