Cat's Eye Nebula Diameter
It is a Planetary Nebula expanding gas shell ejected from an end-of-life star in the constellation of the Dragon whose age is estimated at only 1000 years and the distance at only 5200 light years.
Cat's eye nebula diameter. Planetary nebula known as the Cats Eye. The Cats Eye Nebula NGC 6543 or of cat eye nebula with a diameter of 20 seconds of bow is situated in the north pole of the ecliptic this very brilliant global nebula is situated in the constellation of the Dragon. The nebulas core has an apparent size of 20 and a high surface brightness.
This image reveals new details of the Cats Eye Nebula catalogued as NGC 6543 one of the most complex planetary nebulae ever seen. This composite of data from NASAs Chandra X-ray Observatory and Hubble Space Telescope gives astronomers a new look for NGC 6543 better known as the Cats Eye Nebula. This image is 12 arcminutes 12 light-years or 035 parsecs wide.
Cats Eye Nebula or NGC 6543. The full beauty of the Cats Eye Nebula NGC 6543 is revealed in this new detailed view from NASAs Hubble Space Telescope. Cats Eye Nebula or NGC 6543.
Discovered by Karl Ludwig Harding probably before 1824 this object is one of the closest to the Earth of all the bright planetary nebulae. Cats Eye Nebula NGC 6543. The Catss Eye Nebula is a perfect example of a planetary nebula.
For the very faint outer halo 23- 1 hour exposures in O3 for the very bright core 10-60 second subs were gathered and for the rest 15 minute exposures all assembled together in. I managesd to get some visible by using seceral relatively short exposures 150s. 600 x 590 Photo description.
Surrounding the Cats Eye is a huge shell from earlier stellar winds with a diameter of close to 45 light years somewhat larger than the distance from the Sun to Alpha Centauri. 3000 light-years 1000 parsecs Dimensions. Cats Eye Nebula NGC 6543 is a planetary nebula.
